Red Vs Blue and Homeland Security
When a nations protections comes into question it seems pretty one sided or so you would think. Homeland Securities number one goal is to protect the country as a whole from foreign and domestic enemies. Lately however there methods on how to protect us do to the patriot act has caused diversion amongst the support for Homeland Security. The Democrats feel that Homeland Security oversteps that fine line that there interrogations and spying on our citizens is going to far, and the founding fathers would never do such a terrible thing. While the Republicans feel this invasive invasion of privacy is necessary to keep our nation strong and to allow the rest of us to live with out the fear of terror. However I and most feel sorta down the the middle i agree it is necessary the interrogations and the listening devises to hear for potential threats although Homeland security does oversteps its bound it is nothing new. Bill Clinton had prisoners tortured in other countries so we wouldn't have too. Nixon had listening devices and spies all over looking for commies. What they are doing is nothing new the only difference is we know its going on now.

Where do We Fall

With the topic of Homeland Security, it seems people find a split issue. Some depute that we don’t need home land security, some say we do. Some say we pay them too much some say we don’t fund them enough. Some say what they do go too far including the patriot act. Some say it’s necessary. Usually you find that split between the Democrats and the Republicans. The Democrats go from saying they are too well funded to what they do is wrong; to saying we shouldn’t have them at all. While the Republicans say that what home land security does is necessary, and needs all the funding they can get. It seems this issue is much spilt showing the right side is for homeland security while the Left feels they are too powerful.

Homeland Security
Homeland security is one of the most criticized for being overpaid and yet it is completely necessary. Homeland security is split into many branches such as counter-terrorism, border security, P.R.R. (Preparedness, Response, and Recovery), Immigration, and Cyber-security. Homeland Security is what keeps us safe and what keeps us on top as a supper power. However, at times it seems our country isn't as secure as we like to think it is. It seems that as much as its the governments job to keep us safe they do try to hide things from us as well. One topic that got me stunned was that around 5 years ago China hacked into our governments networks and was able to attain every blue print for every nuke we have. Now they know this happened and China was able to get away with this. You would think that the government would be trying to focus more on cyber-security, however it seems they have more important problems. (heres a video of chinas threat through espionage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHvgKD7dhJU )
