The Death Penalty

The death penalty is an issue that has a clear division between liberals and conservatives. Liberals believe that the death penalty is cruel and unusual punishment, imprisonment is an appropriate punishment for murder, that every executions risks killing an innocent person and that it should be abolished. Conservatives believe that the death penalty is not cruel and unusual, that the punishment fits the crime, and that it should not be abolished.
