Gun Control in Federalism

Gun control is currently a huge debate amongst the federal government. Each side of the arguement has very valid points. For example, in this article, it is said that owning a gun is an American tradition that dates back to colonial America in the 1600s. Also, a major connection to Federalism in relation to gun control is that the second amendment, a key part of the Bill of Rights to the Constitution allows for people to own firearms. However, federal laws have restricted this constitutional right such as not allowing known felons to own guns and creating safe gun laws so guns don't end up in the wrong hands. The main goal of all of this federal legislation is to find a good balance between the inaliable right to own guns and the safety for the common good.
