Internet Privacy Opinions

many citizens of the US are ill informed that internet privacy is a major issue. Many feel that the websites they trust will protect them and not share their personal information. Unfortunately, this is untrue as many websites, such as Facebook, gives user information to third parties, such as advertisers. This breaks the trust the users have in the websites, causing many Americans to feel that internet privacy needs to be protected under law. It is impossible to protect your information if you have no way of stopping internet sites from giving it away. Many citizens would favor a bill or law that would stop the major web sites from sharing the information they would like to keep private. Many people are private people and tend to not want all of their information public. On facbook, with all of the privacy settings, it is very easy for users to retain their privacy, but only to a point. Those who do not want their information sent to third parties tend to be more upset about privacy and feel that something needs to be done.
