Death Penalty

This year, during AP Government and Politics I am going to be following the death penalty. I believe that the death penalty is cruel and inhumane, no matter what way you go about it.  It should not be up to the United States judiciary system to decide when a human beings life is going to end. Most importantly the death penalty is irreversible. Its not something that can be taken back or fixed. Judges and juries make mistakes, those mistakes should not be payed back in human lives.

The death penalty has also been a highly debated topic, most states have actually done away with it, and I think it would extraordinarily interesting to report on the inner workings of the repeals and the debates that were behind the issue. The topic of capital punishment would have plenty of information to keep me occupied all year.
